Warranty and Returns Policy

Damaged, Dead on Arrival or Incorrectly Shipped Goods

Should a product be dead on arrival, damaged in transit or incorrectly shipped you must contact Datcom. This must be done within 7 days of purchase.
The following information will be required:

(a) Name and contact details of purchaser
(b) Invoice number or order number
(c) Part number of product to be returned
(d) Item serial number(s)
(e) Date on packing slip or invoice
(f) Whether the product box has been opened
(g) Reason for return

You should return the product to us complete and must be packaged in original packaging. All packing materials, manuals, diskettes, CDs, digital media, blank warranty cards and other accessories and documentation must be included as provided by the manufacturer. Any damage that is caused in transit will be the your responsibility. The associated costs of returning the product is your responsibility. Should products be returned by post, registered or certified mail are recommended. No responsibility is accepted for loss or damage during transit. The return policy will not be honoured in the event that a return shipment is received by us improperly packaged, altered or physically damaged.

The product will be tested within 30 days of receipt. Should the product be found not to be damaged or dead on arrival or any defects or damage were caused after receipt had been taken of the products, the products will be returned to you. We may charge a labour fee and you will be invoiced a processing fee and any freight costs associated with the return. These are payable within 14 days of receipt of invoice.
If you receive a product that is damaged in transit, they should:
(a) Refuse to accept delivery of the product
(b) Direct the courier to "return goods to sender"
(c) Notify Datcom

If delivery has already been accepted and the product has been damaged in transit then Datcom should be advised immediately.
Should the product be found to have been damaged in transit, then credit will be issued for the purchase price. However, should the product be found to be in full working order or the damage complained of occurred after delivery was taken then the product will be returned to you and you will be invoiced a labour fee/processing fee and any associated freight costs.
Similarly, should it be found that the product was shipped incorrectly a credit for the purchase price. However, if the product was found to be shipped correctly, it will be returned to you and you will be invoiced a labour fee/processing fee and any associated freight costs.

Manufacturer's Warranty & Return Policy

(a) You agree that to the extent permitted by law, all products with the exception of ex-demo, ex-rental, soiled, clearance, second hand, imperfect or damaged are sold with a manufacturer's warranty, unless otherwise noted. You will first make a claim against the manufacturer and shall utilise that warranty for the support of such products and in any event not look to Datcom for such warranty support in the first instance.

(b) The manufacturer will direct you as to who to return the product to. Should the manufacturer direct you to return the product to them, their agent or a third party, you should do so in accordance with the manufacturer's returns policy and they will arrange a refund, repair or replacement pursuant to their policy.

(c) Should the manufacturer direct the you to return the product to Datcom, you should contact Datcom as soon as possible and provide proof of purchase details. You are responsible for all shipping costs of the returns. All refunds/credits for approved returns exclude shipping and any expedited handling costs.

(d) All non-defective printers, plasma displays, notebooks, processors, scanners, memory products, projectors, 20" or larger displays, opened software, special ordered items, ex-demo, ex-rental, soiled, clearance, second hand, imperfect or damaged and consumables are not returnable.
